Kingfisher  Retreat is a 3-4 bedroom home nestled in a Nature Conservancy in Haga Haga on the Wild  Coast, with breathtaking sea views and garden. 

It is safe with a tranquil setting, off the beaten track. The lagoon washes out onto the main beach, a safe playground for smaller children. 

Abundant wildlife and bird watching. Long beach walks with fresh tidal pools. Fantastic rock and surf fishing and whale and dolphin sightings abound. Hotel, restaurants and shop across the lagoon. A wonderful library with a selection of books for those rainy days...

Kingfisher Retreat Accommodation

This special home has a large patio with beautiful views of the sea. A green lawn surrounds the home and offers a braai place, space for relaxing outdoors and for children and pets to run around within the bounds of the perimeter wall and wooden fence.

The main home (main dwelling) has three bedrooms, an open plan lounge and dining area leading off to the covered patio overlooking the sea, a kitchen with extra storage space, two toilets and a main bathroom with a full sized bath, shower and basin cabinet space. 

The three bedrooms all have cupboard space, hanging space and folding space for clothing. The main bedroom, the first bedroom, has a large king size bed. This can also be changed to accommodate two single beds. The second bedroom has two single beds. The third bedroom has two single beds; these are more suited to smaller adults (mattress thickness) or youngsters. All bedrooms have a fan and lovely windows for ventilation, as does the lounge and dining area.

There is a separate dwelling comprising of a large room with double bed, heaps of cupboard space and an en-suite bathroom including a shower, toilet and basin. This space is behind the garage and leads off the laundry room which houses the large washing machine.

There is a lovely lady to assist with cleaning and washing daily. A local lady who manages this home and knows all about the goings on in the area, Dianne, is available to assist you with any queries you may have before or during your stay. Dianne manages this Air B&B listing along with Logan and Gloria, the two owners of this much loved home.

**Please note: Please remember to bring your own bath towels and beach towels. All bedding IS provided.

Things to do around Haga Haga

The beach is a relaxing, short walk - perhaps 5 minutes away.  Before you know it, you'll be enjoying the shells, rockpools and beautiful waters of the Wild Coast. 

Little ones will love the rock pools as well as the nearby lagoon. People select a few sea swimming spots which Dianne can advise you about if you aren't familiar with the area.

Across the nearby lagoon is the Haga Haga hotel, a lovely tidal pool, the church, library, museum and little shop. One can walk from Marshstrand across the lagoon to this area, drive across the lagoon beach (depending on your vehicle, the tide etc), drive and park on the Marshstrand side of the lagoon and then take a shorter walk across the lagoon or drive along the sand road to get to the Haga Haga hotel side. 

Enjoy hiking, fishing, horse riding, deep see fising, bird watching, day trips and hikes around the towns in the area.

This magical place, Marshstrand in Haga Haga, is a hidden jewel of tranquility and beauty. All who have the pleasure of spending time here will fall in love with it!

Guest access: Depending on the booking arrangements that you make with Dianne, you will have access to the full property including the main dwelling and the separate dwelling with double bed and en-suite bathroom. The property sleeps a total of 8 people, so when confirming arrangements you'll confirm which spaces you'd prefer to occupy.

Other things to note:  Please read through the information that Dianne sends you before departing on your trip. This will include information on the keys (access to the home).
