TEAM BUILDING
Book your conference and team building with us. The Areena Riverside Resort adventure guides can facilitate your staff through a series of team building activities, all of which take place in our Private Game Reserve.

CONFERENCES
Our conference facilities can host up to 80 delegates in the main conference venue with cinema style seating, or up to 40 people with school room style seating. Our second conference venue can host up to 30 delegates. Jugs of water and mints are available to each delegate on the table. Our main conference venue has an air-conditioning system to keep you cool in the summer months. Morning and afternoon tea as well as various lunch options are available and prepared by Areena Quays Restaurant.


PRIVATE EVENTS - WEDDINGS AND KIDS PARTIES 

WEDDINGS
Small intimate country weddings are welcome at Areena Riverside Resort. Our event complex on the banks of the Kwelera River is the perfect setting for small intimate weddings of 50-60 guests. You have the option of an outdoor ‘chapel’ on the riverbanks or an indoor thatched chapel venue. The reception venue has stack away doors on to a river view patio area, so make full use of the country venue and beautiful views.

KID’S PARTIES
Wondering what to do for your child’s next birthday party? For the adventurous outdoor children, Areena Riverside Resort is the perfect venue for safe and fun- filled children’s birthday parties and camps which we specialise in. We offer ADVENTURE themed parties, including scavenger hunts, pool pole fights, raft building, pellet gun target shooting, canoeing, and much more adventure. Our restaurant caters kiddie burgers and chips. Alternately you can hire a camp site and do your own snacks or boerie rolls, bring a gazebo and some camping tables and chairs and set up your own little outdoor camp-style snacks.


AREENA EVENTS 

OPEN AIR CINEMA & NIGHT MARKET
The Open-Air Cinema & Night Market is a very special popular family event, with lots to do for the whole family. There is a quad train that takes the kids for rides around the resort, a jumping castle, as well as a relaxing river cruise up and down the river.
The night market offer quality hand crafted goods, and there is live music to set the vibe.

BEER FEST
The beer fest generally held around October, is a festive family fun event. We have live music, varieties of craft beers on sale, and delicious food on sale. Our venue is open air and on the banks of the river, which makes it a great venue to spend the afternoon and evening.

SUNSET SERIES TRAIL RUN
The sunset series trail runs, are 5 km trail runs through the game reserve, are a collaboration with Aloe Adventures and Areena Riverside Resort. A great family event, you can take part in one trail run or do the series of trail runs that are on offer and reconnect with nature.


ACCOMMODATION 

We have a variety of luxury fully equipped self catering accommodation with family cottages, rondavels, timber chalets and double en suite couples units, all with linen and bath towels.  The various units can sleep from 2 persons up to 6 persons per unit.  Our riverside timber chalets and afford you the chance to game view and bird watch from the comfort of your private deck overlooking the river.

TIMBER CHALETS - FROM R2000/ NIGHT
Riverside timber chalets are set on the banks of the river, a few hundred metres from the main hub of the resort, and offer a truly peaceful riverside stay to reconnect with nature.

EN SUITES - FROM R620/ NIGHT
Self-catering couples accommodation apartments for couples or corporate guests. These bachelor style units comfortably accommodate 2 guests.

RONDAVELS - FROM R1570/ NIGHT FOR 2 PEOPLE
Open plan family style affordable self-catering accommodation. These thatched units are perfect for family getaways.

COTTAGES - FROM R1840/ NIGHT FOR 2 PEOPLE
There are five family style cottages to choose from at Areena Riverside Resort.  The cottages sleep from 4 to 6 persons. Enjoy the open plan lounge and kitchen areas.


CAMPING 

Enjoy camping on the river, with garden and Kwelera riverside camping and caravan sites in our idyllic family holiday resort. We offer competitive camping rates.

Many east coast camping enthusiasts have returned to our caravan park time and time again to stay on one of our 110 generously sized caravan or Kwelera River camping sites. Site sizes are an average of 12m x 12m. Most sites are well grassed and shady while other sites have cement slabs for a level and stable base to set up camp on.

With more than half of the sites spread along 800m of river frontage, there will be a site that is perfect for you. Each site has one 15-20 amp electrical outlet for a standard three pin plug and a braai stand with a grid. We have numerous sparkling, clean communal ablution blocks with hot water which are serviced daily. We welcome camper vans as well to our riverside resort.

A communal lounge with DSTV is available to all guests, as well as a swimming pool, tennis court and games room, with table tennis and a pool table.


AREENA QUAYS RESTAURANT 

Areena Quays Restaurant a privately run restaurant situated along the Kwelera River at Areena Riverside Resort on the Wild Coast, 25km from East London. The perfect place to pop in on your Wild Coast Adventures.

There are jungle gyms a stone throw away, trampolines, canoes to hire for canoeing on the river. Bring your fishing rods, there are always fish to be caught. The restaurant serves A La Carte Menu during the week, with different specials daily. On Sundays they have their famous Sunday Lunch Buffet, for the young, old and hungry, you will need a Sunday siesta straight after. Areena Quays Restaurant is a fully licensed establishment and stocks local beer, Emerald Vale, which seems to very popular with the men.


LEISURE EXPERIENCES

RIVER CRUISE ON THE KAREENA
The Kwelera River is a most scenic river estuary, with wild vegetation of cycads and aloes along the kranz banks. Abundant birdlife can be seen and even the occasional buck along the banks of the river can be spotted. 

BIRDWATCHING
Areena Riverside Resort has a great variety of birds so keep your eyes and ears open to spot as many birds as possible while enjoying our riverside resort. 

AREENA SPA 
Our privately run Areena Spa and wellness center is open for guests and the general public alike. Come and relax with us and be pampered by our experienced therapist.  At the Areena Spa and wellness center you can book your favourite pampering session and enjoy any one of a number of indulgent treatments.

FISHING
An abundance of saltwater fish you will find in the Kwelera River. Bring your boat or hire a canoe, and you can trawl your lures as you go.


ADVENTURE EXPERIENCES

ABSEILING
One of the eco-friendly activities offered by our Adventure Village is the exciting and thrilling abseiling. Our abseiling site at the Krantz of the Kwelera River offers stunning views and scenery.

AMAZING ZING ZIPLINE TOUR
Experience a bit of adventure, a bit of adrenaline and beautiful scenery, while enjoying ziplining through the trees with us. The AmaZing Zing Zipline Tour has a total of 10 ziplines that make up the complete tour.

PAINTBALL
Paintball at Areena Riverside Resort takes place in the outdoor environment where “combatants” use mainly the natural terrain scattered with a few artificial pieces for tactical cover. 

SEGWAY TOURS
Have a Segway Safari, glider experience with us, tours of 20 minutes or 60 minutes are available. 

QUAD BIKE SAFARI
Our safaris on quad bikes are very popular, with three tour options to choose from. Taking place in our private game reserve, they offer fun and adventure for the whole family, group of friends or corporate teams. 

OBSTACLE COURSE
You will be putting your balance to the test, as you cross over the dam on balancing beams, X-cross ropes, cargo nets and more. If you lose your balance or footing on any of the crossing points you will fall into the dam water below you, and have a short swim to the bank of the dam, and try crossing again.

ARCHERY
Our targets range from a giant bulls eye, to 3D animals.

PELLET GUN TARGET SHOOTING
An activity for all ages, an interactive activity for the whole family that does not break the bank. 

GIRAFFE INTERACTION
You can book an interaction with Abby, our hand reared 16 year old friendly giraffe.


SPORT EXPERIENCES 

CANOEING & SUP
Stand up paddle boarding on the Kwelera River as well as canoeing on the river are both available to enjoy from the adventure village. 

MOUNTAIN BIKING
This is an activity that is at your own risk, as it is unguided through the Private Game Reserve.

TRAIL RUNNING
You can see all sorts of fauna and flora, as the trail will take you through beautiful scenery. Depending on the trail you use, it can include a riverine track.

HIKING & WALKING
Join our guide on a hike / walk through our Private Game Reserve and enjoy some game viewing. You can see all sorts of fauna and flora, (animals and flowers), while the trail will take you through beautiful scenery.
